ABOUT A4I
Making AI Accessible for All

The AI Innovation & Inclusion Initiative (A4I) is a collaboration between Microsoft India and the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore.
A4I is committed to ensuring that the benefits of artificial intelligence reach the furthest corners of society, especially the underserved and marginalized communities. Our work focuses on researching, developing, deploying, and scaling Digital Public Goods (DPGs) : free, open, and accessible AI solutions designed to address real-world challenges faced by underprivileged groups.
From AI-powered educational tools that support visually impaired learners to intelligent chatbots that provide reliable, timely medical information to ASHA workers, A4I builds technology with purpose. These solutions strengthen communities from the ground up by enhancing access to knowledge, healthcare, education, and more.
We believe technology is most powerful when it is inclusive. Our mission is to leverage cutting-edge artificial intelligence to drive social inclusion and sustainable impact.

Scaled for Good
A4I partners with leading organizations in education and healthcare to co-design and scale high-impact AI solutions for underserved communities. As part of the Microsoft Elevate Program, we build on Microsoft ‘solutions, intentionally scaling them to reach the people who need them most.
This impact is made possible through close collaboration with our domain partners, who implement the solutions on the ground, train users, and help identify the right communities. Together, we create strong feedback loops that enable continuous improvement and ensure our Digital Public Goods evolve in response to real-world needs.
