Yesterday, a mobile snap I took catapulted me back two years, courtesy of a gentle notification from my cloud provider. The image? Arguably, London’s most recognizable address.
No, I wasn’t there awaiting the British PM’s arrival. Rather, in the building opposite, I was among a cohort of experts graciously invited by the British High Commission to delve into the issues of “AI regulation in healthcare”. Our cohort comprised technocrats, policy & legal experts, regulators, and domain specialists. Over an intense, productive week, we engaged with counterparts from esteemed institutions such as Oxford, the Alan Turing Institute, the NHS, and tech companies.
This snapshot reminds me of the dynamic shifts within AI today. Something that did not exist in the 2022 narrative. Gen-AI brings new possibilities to healthcare. Gen-AI not only broadens the areas of diagnosis, care, and research but also holds promise in enabling purposeful interactions with stakeholders and patients. We’ve barely scratched the surface of its potential. With multi-lingual capabilities, this can transform the lives of health professionals and patients across the globe.
Like all AI and Gen-AI professionals, I eagerly await the exciting times ahead.
